Serve Day is a Ventura County wide event that brings acts of service to neighbors in need. This annual event is done in partnership with hundreds of churches, businesses and community partners, and thousands of volunteers. Together, we serve at mobile home parks, homeless shelters, schools, social service agencies and local parks.
Throughout the year, ACTION connects volunteers with local service projects where they can volunteer with their skills on their schedule. Each month, volunteers complete projects to assist senior, disabled and under-resourced individuals. Typical projects include minor repairs, yard work, grab bar installations and handicap ramps!
Community Christmas Shoppe is a holiday tradition in Ventura County. This event serves under-resourced families by providing toys for Christmas! We partner with local social service agencies to find families otherwise unable to afford Christmas presents for their children, and invite them to “shop” for toys at no personal cost.
ACTIONLink is a searchable directory of church ministries that serve the community found here on the ACTION website. Those looking for help can find the resources they need, all with a click of a button. Churches and agencies also can utilize this database to share their resources and program information. ACTION was born out of a desire to network churches, agencies and businesses together to collectively serve the ever increasing level of needs throughout our community.
Today, over 80 churches, numerous agencies and many firms in the business community support this non-profit 501(c)3 organization which engages thousands of volunteers to serve on hundreds of projects as followers of Christ. We focus primarily on seniors, disabled residents, under resourced families, the homeless population and at risk youth.
James 2:15-17 – Because “faith in action” is alive… “Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by actions, is dead.”
